Jason is driven by his desire to reclaim the throne that is rightfully his from his evil cousin Pelias, and he is willing to do anything to achieve his goals.  On his quest he meets a girl named Madea with powerful magic.  He uses her to help him achieve his quest and with out Medea he would be dead.  For instance when Jason had to fight against the two bulls that could breath fire Medea gives him a magic charm that would make him invincible for a day so that he could defeat the bulls with ease.  Even after all of the things that Medea had done for Jason to help him complete his quest he betrays her by marrying another.  Even though  he promised to marry her.  Jason did not care what happened to others as long as he reclaimed his throne and after that he didn’t need anyone’s help anymore.

Luke Skywalker on the other hand is on a quest to become a Jedi like his father and to help the rebellion defeat the Empire.  Luke is resistant at first but when his farm is destroyed he decides to go with Obi Won and learn the ways of the Jedi.  For instance when Luke is attacking the Death Star and is using his targeting computers he turns them off when Obi Wons (ghost/spirit in the force) tells him to "Use the force" he takes the shot and makes it destroying the Death Star.  Instead of trusting the machine he trust the force and it pays off.  This is very significant because it is the first time Luke uses the force, and is on his way to becoming a Jedi.  He has just begun his many journeys and already has make a big dent in the Empires forces.

Both Luke and Jason had loyal companions that helped them to complete their quests.  Luke had Han Solo who stopped Darth Vader from shooting Luke’s ship and in doing so gives Luke the time he needs to take his shot.  Jason on the other hand had Medea who gives him a charm that makes him invincible for a day and saves his life multiple times.  Obi Won as a loyal companion sacrifices himself so that Luke could get away from Darth Vader and the storm troopers.  Without these friends neither of them could have completed their quest.  Luke would have been either captured or killed by Vader and Jason would have died fighting the Bulls.  The only difference between Jason and Luke is that Jason uses his friends and then steps on them to get to the top, and Luke returns the loyalty to his friends and uses them for support.  Today loyal friends are highly valued and are hard to find.
